machine shop scrap

Tonight on my way to clock out from work i went over to the machine side to talk to one of the guys jim and i seen some scrap of metal rods and asked if i could have them and he said sure that they were just going to be thrown out so i asked if he ever had any other stuff like this and he told me to start stopping buy after work, so who knows what i could come up with using this stuff.

The rods make a nice little clinking sound when tapped together im thinking about making a wind chime sort of instrument but idk yet.
