clamp, contact mic, fence, mallet

I posted a recording the other day of me tapping this fence/handrail structure and recording it with the built in mics on my h4, well i decided to go back tonight and give it another go with my mallets and a clamped contact mic. All the audio is natural nothing has been done or added to it.

new homemade hydrophone

I decided to make a new hydrophone for when my h4 gets here so i can use it on some of my field recording adventures, contact mics / hydrophones when bought pre made from people can be rather costly and that is kind of putting it lightly so i decided to make one and plan to make a few more this week, i will make a video showing a easy way to go about it.

Below is a picture of the one i made today.

Kid Tunes Keyboard W/ Pitch Bend

This is just a pitch bend mod using screws as contacts i added to a little kid tunes keyboard, i found the toy awhile back and have not got around to messing with it, theres not a whole lot that can be done with it but i plan to add a line out and look for some other things when i have more time.

5:25PM

bowed santoor + contact mic / processed

I had to make a new conact mic due to messing up my other one becuase i built it so poorly this was is made using half of a old guitar cable so its alot better than the other one which was just this wires to a jack.

For the test i did with it i decided to put it on the end of a santoor i have and bow it with my violin bow, the sound was then ran into ableton live and ran through 6 different sends which had various groups of effects. You can see a video of the test below.
