This is one of the first weeks I have started where I am awake, I am always so tired, work went smoothly for the most part, the sky looked so lovely throughout the night and as it got darker the fog got thicker.
I decided to set my camera on a tote to record out on the back pad while I worked some outside, at one point you hear some stuff fall over i was going to cut it off there but decided to just leave it the way it was.
So while driving out to pastures this morning to try to get good shots of the sky i seen this very long tree line and decided to park and have a look around. Its very lovely inside there right now but i bet it would look amazing during the summer, here is some pictures and video of it.
I decided to go downtown again to adventure around with my field recording bag. I covered some good ground this time; I started out at a construction site, made my way to a pond near the peace center, then crossed the street and went over to the Greenville News building. After all the previous recording, I decided to head towards Falls Park. Along the way, I stopped and recorded in a parking garage beside the park.
This location was rather nice to record at, as there were so many sounds to be picked up at once from all the various people working. Below is a recording of some of the work going on. Near the end, you hear them yelling; basically while I was sitting there, a big wind came along and started to blow all their paperwork around.
Peace Center Pond:
I recorded at this pond the last time i was in greenville field recording so i decided to take a different approach this time using my hydrophone i build.
Parking Garage:
Falls Park:
Recording in the park was rather moving as there was a good amount of people that seemed to be interested in the recording. Some came up and talked to me and asked questions, and others just stood back up on the bridge while I climbed around the rocks and down into some tight spaces to record (although some of those people were probably just waiting for me to fall). I had three nice old people, a lady and two gentlemen, come up and talk to me for a bit after one of my times down near the water. I let them hear what I was working on; it was really moving to talk to someone so interested when I am living in an area that just finds some of this stuff plain weird.
Air Conditioner:
After i was done recording for the day and was heading back i heard this air conditioner kick on and it sounded really lovely so i went to find and record it.

This is a little video of me working with rocks to make textures, Im using two mxl 991 condensor mics and running the sound throgh some generative channels in ableton.
First let me say i really like using things in nature for my work because it makes it feel more real to me and the other reason i really enjoy it is because things in nature such as a animal or weather can do something that i have no controll over and i guess it kinda puts a interesting limitation or obstacle of sorts.
For the video below im running the sound of the bee through two different generative chains. Im kinda surprised i got this footage i was packing up from when i was doing the experiment with rocks and then i seen this bee besides me and i figured why not.
