Entries in newry mill (3)

12:44PM

m i ll to w n

Last night while we were all colabing together i gave frank the sounds i recorded at the Newry Mill a few hours prior to the colab and he started to mess with them inside reaktor. The sample he is mainly using is of me playing with tumblers on a electrical box in the mills furnace room and the other sample is from me spinning a metal wheel on a door (the sounds from that are used more in the second piece).

Below is a little clip of me recording the sample of the electrical box,

And here is a link to the other video which shows me recording the metal wheel on the door.

Here are the two pieces, i have not edited them anyway just uploaded the stems as frank gave them to me after he got done processing, im really happy working with people like this as i get real enjoyment out of doing the recording aspect but its also nice to hear what someone else can do on top of your vision.

Improv using objects from prior field recording sites

I decided to go out in the garage tonight and work on some things using pieces of debris I picked up from various field recording spots. The piece of drift wood I got from the field recording trip to Falls Park, all the metal is from the Newry mill, and shell is from the bridge on Lake Hartwell.

I will be going in with all my field recording gear and some cameras to be sure to capture everything check back for post.
