recording sound of reedy river

Yesterday me and joe and his girlfriend decided to go check out the fall for greenville event so i took my bag of things along in case we came across a place to record. I decided to show them this one stream over near falls park which had this little bridge which i figured would be a fun place to record under. The setup i used was my macbook running ableton live, a mxl mic and a mbox interface.

In the video above it is layered with the recordings i took, but i do plan to use them with some instruments to make a new piece.

Generative Setup 1.0 Test

This test is for my first generative setup, I wanted it to have a very traditional Chinese feel to it while at the same time still being very electronic and of course generative based. Please note tho the setup can be changed sound wise very fast to have a different feel/vibe for each performance.

The goal of this setup was to piece together as much of the work that i have documented thus far into one setup, so for this version i include the following.

Features:

- 1 main generative group chain

- 2 solo generative chains

- 1 sample channel (more can be added of course)

- 1 one shot generative drum channel

- 1 full generative drum rack channel

- 2 resample channels

Here is a video example of the test:

Note: The only thing that is not included in the video above that is in the complete setup is a channel for a live instrument as well as a resample and generative channel for the instrument channel.

Generative Processing Setup w/ 2 ReSample Channels

Im working on the resample part of one of my generative setups, in this test as you will see in the video below i have 2 resample channels one of them is labeled "drone / Resample" and that channel has extra reverb and i also am using my friend marcs Dustbreeding plugin to give a very drone style sound to what ever is resampled.

The second channel is labeled "Click / Resample" with that channel i am using extra reverb as well and i am also using a plugin called "livecut" which basically slices up what ever you are putting through it, whith that it adds a light idm style feel to it with the latency sounding clicks.

and that is about all ive done for this test besides maping things out to a little number keypad i have laying around. I am working on a little more complex of resampling for a setup im doing with a junior grand piano but this is the main idea.
