hydrophone + mason jar/water + toy piano + ableton/reverb/beat-slicer

this was a little experiment i had thought of awhile back when i was going to buy a hydrophone the idea was to hang a hydrophone down from the ceiling into a container of water that was placed on top of a piano, the vibrations of the piano would then vibrate the jar/water and then go to the hydrophone.

I took that same concept and ran it into ableton live i then ran the sound through 3 sends each with a different style of reverb, and the 3rd was ran through a beat slicer before the reverb.

Accordion, Drones + Glitches

Ive been putting off doing something with just the accordion and all night i was thinking about doing something with it so when i woke up this morning i set up my mic and started to record some things, i ran the parts i recorded into a two part generative chain which was then ran into four different sends.

At one point i move the accordion closer to the mic to record nothing but the air flow which is where alot of the glitches in the end come from.

New Instruments: Antique Toy Grand Piano + Emenee Toy Accordion

I got this antique toy grand off ebay, the outside condition is not the best but the sound of it makes up for the look by miles. The keys are a little sluggish but i like the feel that puts on it so it all works out for the best, i plan to use this on my upcoming release.

Below is a picture of the unit from above, it does have legs and stands about level with my knees.

This emenne accordion was won off ebay as well the description said it did not work but it does, well in my sense of working meaning it produces sound, but yea it does not work in the normal sense something seems to be wrong with the keys but ether way its a lovely find.

Outside Improv w/ Pss7, Sticks & Rocks

So it was really lovely outside today and i was working on some ideas for a setup that could be verry adaptable for when i perform live, so since it was nice out i figured i would go try out my idea ouside insted of my studio.

i tend to record a lot of things and then forget to save or document them so i decided to pull out my camera for this. In the the video below the sound was constructed using, My macbook running ableton live, a handfull of rocks and some branches, a audio-technica drum mic, and a yamaha pss-7. I like using the kids keyboards, im thinking of getting a little kids acoustic piano.
